Kosta solo exhibition at Hilbert Museum - March 22-August 9, 25. Learn More
The Hilbert Museum of California Art is home to one of the largest collections of California narrative art in the world. Founded by philanthropists Mark and Janet Hilbert, it is the only museum in the world committed to tracing the rich, iconic history of California from the late 19th century to the present day through works by leading California artists.
Kosta was introduced to the Museum’s namesake, Mr. Gilbert Hilbert by California Art Club's President Emeritus Peter Adams in 2023 at an art event where Kosta he learned that the art collector is a fan of his work. HGilbert and Kosta’s shared interest for documenting California through fine art led to the Hilbert Museum acquiring ‘‘The Light Beneath’ one of the paintings from Kosta’s large-scale fine art series, The LA River Series, which explores the role of the LA River in the history of Los Angeles.
Kosta’s ‘The Light Beneath’ is part of the Hilbert Museum’s permanent collection.
